BLUE LOTUS EGYPT (PYRAMIDION) In Loving Memory of Celeste Yarnall
“Your Heart is Full of fertile seeds, waiting to sprout.
Just like a lotus flower springs from the mire to bloom splendidly, the interaction of the cosmic breath causes the flower of the spirit to bloom and bear fruit in this world”.
Morihei Ueshiba- The Art of Peace
The sacred flower of Ancient Egypt ‘The Blue Lotus’ sparked the inspiration for this painting, conceived as a ‘triptych’ or three-panel artwork.
A visit to Egypt in 2017 with travels upon the River Nile set the impetus for the painting, which blends a myriad of impressions and thoughts, merging a contemporary outlook set within a historic time - frame. The Nile, heavy with history, flows with a metaphoric depth wherein the sense of time seems tangible. Mythic epochs of Ancient Gods and Goddesses have emerged from the Nile, giving life-blood to knowledge, insight and spiritual revelation.
Beyond the museum walls and galleries throughout the world that contain Ancient Egyptian artifacts, the actuality of travel to the landscape where these objects emerged offers a glimpse into the sensory realm, animating the imagination and giving context to the creative source that formed the art and culture of a civilization.
Having endured the perils of ovarian cancer since 2014, and survived with a mission to give back to society, made the trip all the more special for Celeste. This played an important role in the creation of the ‘Blue Lotus’ (Pyramidion) triptych, which can be regarded as a visual ode and homage from the artist to his beloved.
Celeste’s ascension from the terrestrial plane on October 7th, 2018, makes these paintings a Memorial honoring her time on Earth, as a source of Pure Love and Light, and can be seen as her ultimate inspiration for Nazim, who is her Divine Compliment and life partner.
