This work was created to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the original series (TOS) of Star Trek the iconic TV series. The painting is also a personal reflection of how Celeste Yarnall, a guest star on the series, has emerged from her ovarian cancer ordeal into remission.
The composition is derived from classical ballet as noted in the pencil drawing. Dance offers a powerful metaphor for life and is a portal through which one can be elevated into spiritual solace and freedom.
