THIS WORK IS AN EVOCATION OF ELVIS ON A HARLEY DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE. ELVIS WAS A PASSIONATE COLLECTOR OF THIS AMERICAN MACHINE DESIGNED TO SYMBOLISE THE 'SPIRIT OF FREEDOM' THAT FORMS THE CORE OF AN AMERICAN CONSCIOUSNESS. A HARLEY OFFERS A PHILOSOPHICAL ROMANTIC CONNECTION TO AN EXISTENTIAL EXPRESSION OF ONES INDIVIDUAL BEING. THE WINGS IN THE WORK BARE REFERENCE TO THE EAGLE WINGS ASSOCIATED WITH THE ICONOGRAPHY OF THE HARLEY LOGO, AS WELL AS THE CELESTIAL SYMBOLISM THAT EMBODIES THE 'SPIRIT' OF ELIVIS.
THIS DRAWING WAS CONCIEVED TO BE DISPLAYED AT THE GRAMMY MUSEUM, IN LOS ANGELES, CELEBRATING ELVIS AT THE MOVIES, WITH A SPECIAL GUEST APPEARENCE OF ELVIS CO-STAR CELESTE YARNALL FROM THE MOVIE 'LIVE A LITTLE LOVE A LITTLE'.
